Upcoming Gatherings

A Farm Gathering:

   Bread-Making

  May 28 2016

Come join us at our farmhouse for a day of bread-making, food and community.  The day will begin with gathering at the PipCreek farm, conversation and introductions around cups of Cornelia Bean's tea.  With aprons on, we will begin creating our first loaf with the intention of allowing you to become familiar with dough types and textures.   Andrea will be speaking from her experiences in making various types of bread.  Each gathering participant will make their dough in a Mud + Stone bread bowl, bespoke for this event.  Using a mill, we will also be grinding local organic grains to add to our loaves and also to the flatbreads we will be making for lunch.  As our loaves and flatbreads bake, Andrea will set the table for a luncheon of flatbreads, local vegetable soup and a spring salad.

After lunch, we will get back to work, working on a sweet treat, this time introducing adding eggs, milk and butter to our dough. We will, together, make pans of chocolate chelsea buns topped with a delicious and rich cream cheese topping.

Feel free to bring some knitting, writing or watercolours to help pass the time while we wait for dough to rise and for loaves and buns to bake.  And, of course, the large, screened porch is available for sitting and passing the time.

The day will begin on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 9 am and end around 4 pm.  Cost is $165 for the full day.

Gathering members will leave with their pottery bowl, Pipcreek Farm café apron and baked items.

Pipcreek Farm is located near Inglis, MB, Canada.

Please know you can make it before booking as we do not accept cancellations and gathering purchases are non-refundable.

InspiredBy the animals + land around us

A grounded lifestyle

There is so much that can inspire us when we are designing products.  Woodland pillows come from drawings of the animals we see as we trek about.  Furoshiki totes, multifunctional in purpose, are naturally dyed + eco-printed according to the seasons.  Art prints feature robins wearing mittens and ear muffs, rabbits, elk and horses.  Everything depends on what we are seeing out our windows, what greets us in the pasture and what we hear in the evenings as we finish chores.  Table runners, block printed + dyed, are the culmination of changing seasons as well.  We love neutrals, bold prints, with some hits of colour!  Think understated but with inflections of humour.

Farm Living

Farm Living

Rural. Simple.  Living the good life.

Rural.  Simple.  And loving the good life.  This is a recipe for us.

Our products reflect this.

Maple sap, honey from our hives, flowers from the garden and other plants all find a way into our products.  100% natural and handcrafted; That's our soap and bath products in a one number and three word sentence.  Its translation into ingredients?  Essential oils, plant based oils and other ingredients found in nature.  For you, it means no worrying about phthalates, parabens and petrochemicals.

All of our products, home and body, are crafted by hand and in small batches.  This process allows us to maintain high quality which is what you want.

We live for and raise good food in our garden and the pasture.  That's why we keep a small herd of grassfed Dexter cows, a flock of heritage-breed laying hens and determinedly pick and preserve from our garden and orchard trees.  Our cows are raised on pasture, only given antibiotics if absolutely necessary (ie. sick or injured) and fed hay in the winter.  We make our own hay on land that isn't sprayed or receiving chemical fertilization.

The luxury of small moments filled with beautiful ingredients

Your skin deserves products that moisturize, gently exfoliate + condition.  Your skin is a sponge which means products need to be made with ingredients that won't harm your body.  All of PipCreek Farm's serums, deodorants, soaps + other products are made with natural oils, carefully selected essential oils + botanicals.

We seek out local ingredients wherever possible; from the organic farmers living just north of us who press their own camellina oil to herbs like mint, plantain + burdock gathered on our land.

Some insight about where we are and what we do

Who We Are

Soap, gardening, foraging, beef, making do, simple living and hard work.  Our farm and home is located just where boreal forests face off against prairie horizons.  We live a mishmash of real life here at the shop/studio/home/farm, where the messy bits become memories and stories to save for later.  It means we love sitting out on the screened porch with kids running around, friends visiting,  honest food on the table, with geese flying overhead.

We strive to provide you with quality products, whether it is face and body products, Un-plastic Food Wrap, home goods or our grass-fed beef.

Belief in our products is necessary; We use them everyday for laundry, cleaning, making school lunches, enjoying a bath and all the other many, many bits that make up our lives.

We want to share them with you!

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit us!   We love and value our community and connections with people.
