Yesterday morning I travelled out to a farm for a 2014 senior photo session. We'd been making dates for this session for months now, only to have every one of them rained out! I think this was our fourth or fifth go and it was warm, clear and absolutely perfect. Well, except for the wind! But Angela, an amazingly upbeat, beautiful, smart girl, took it all in stride. She walked through the bush with four inch heels, dress catching on wild roses, and then stood out in worked fields, amid crop stubble and strong winds. The light was fluid and intriguing. It constantly changed, starting as bright and clear with geese flocks flying overhead to the fields and then moving to a haze over the horizon due to stubble burning some distance away. Combined with Angela's startling blue eyes and smile, it made for a fantastic outdoor session! We travelled to a few places around her family's farm and then went back to take pictures of her "baby", actually her "grand baby" (couldn't resist the pun!). I was fortunate enough to be able to shoot whilst listening to music in a light-filled space. Look at the way the beading on her bodice catches the sunlight streaming in through the windows and reflects it everywhere! It was such a calm space after the all wind outside and a great way to end the session! What a fabulous morning!
