Seasons.  

They rule us.  They are such a part of where we live.  And like a lot of rural Canadians, we revel in the summer, curse the winter, muck about in spring and breathe grain dust (love the smell!) in fall.  And we wouldn't trade it for the world, or any hot place!

Seasons tell us what our jobs should be, bring rest and work in turn.  And so it is with the farm.  Our beef and eggs are available seasonally. 


"How about eggs?" Eggs come chockablock in spring and summer and slow in winter.  Did you know eggs change with the season?  Spring eggs come with thinner, corn yellow yolks compared to the orange, velvety yolks of August. Our chickens have free range through the warm months (they prefer to stay in their cozy coop in winter!) and make the perfect moving lawn ornaments.  The one place they aren't allowed to go is my pea and cucumber patch as they don't believe in sharing!  Eggs are available in limited quantities at the farm gate.  Feel free to contact us about availability.

Grass fed and finished beef

Our beef is usually available in November to February.  We sell by the whole (rail weight 375-450 lbs), half and quarter.  Custom cut and wrap is included.  Ground beef may be available during the other parts of the year.

We love our butcher.  He's funny, down-to-earth and great at his job.  If you order some meat from us, feel free to ask us about Shellmouth Sausage.  His Smoked Summer Sausage is a local delicacy, a bagged summer sausage with mustard seeds and heavy smoke! 

"What is custom cut and wrap?"  That means you pick how thick you want your steaks, if you want flat iron and flank steak, how many steaks/pk.  It also means you decide if you want your inside/outside round cuts as roast or steak.  How many pounds/roast, if you want short ribs, brisket and marrow bone are other choices you are given.  And once you taste our ground beef, you won't be able to eat what conventional grocery chains sell as ground beef!  It's that good!
